This is a great idea.  We are working on it.

Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo Parade witnessing

Tuesday, July 13th, 2010

God is so good.  We have now completely wiped out all our tracts even after getting tons of them earlier this year. This parade was another great time of seed sowing as hundreds of tracts were given out and we had some good witness encounters too.

This guy has REALLY BIG HORNS

A great day of witnessing.  May God be praised and glorified!

Good and bad tracts at Territory Days 2010

Saturday, May 29th, 2010

GOOD TRACTS. We had a great day of witnessing at Territory Days here in Colorado Springs.  While there we passed out over 2000 gospel tracts and shared the gospel a few times.  Actually sharing the gospel verbally is tough in a setting like this, however, as it is busy and NOISY.  Oh well, the gospel was proclaimed anyway, even in written form in a tract.

BAD TRACTS.  Now while down there, someone gave me a bad “gospel tract”.  A picture of part of it is below.  Now, the title of the tract shows how bogus it is.  NO ONE knows the hour or time of Christ return (Matthew 24:36)

There is some truth in these tracts, but just a little poison in something like this is enough to kill..

This is the reason some reject giving out tracts, but don’t let that stop you.  God will use your faithfulness to save those who believe.

BTW..check out the radio station in Pueblo, CO.. K FRY.

Turn or burn baby…not good.

Darwin day at UCCS

Wednesday, November 18th, 2009

We have an extention of the University of Colorado here in town called UCCS.  It is getting to be a big campus with many students.  Anyway, me and a group of local seed sowers went there today to hand out Ray Comfort’s new book on Darwin.  The front of the book refutes Darwin(and has a gospel message) and the back of the book is the unabridged “Origin of the Species” book.  It did not take us long to hand out all the books and talk to the students.  We only got a few hostile responses and did get to share the gospel with a few of the book recievers.  All in all a great day to glorify God!

By the way, did you know the original title of the Darwin book published in 1859 was…   On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life.   Wow…..

Halloween witnessing

Sunday, November 1st, 2009

We love the chance to witness to the lost on Halloween.  Instead of going to the neighbors houses, they come to us!  In fact, this year, we had a bonfire going and invited all the immediate neighbors over to the house.  So everyone got to hear the gospel and get tracts.  We probably had 50-60 kids up here with their folks….awesome!

Bible for life transformation?

Monday, October 19th, 2009

There is a radio ad running here in town that promotes a church with the preacher saying the bible’s purpose is for “life transformation”.  Now I certainly believe the bible can and does change lives, and is the best gospel tract out there.  But the way this issue is presented always bugged me, and I could never really figure out why.

A quote from Michael Horton’s new book, The Gospel Driven Life, may just clear that up for me.  I guess the idea of life transformation is ok, but the focus should be on God, not on us.  Maybe the focus on the reader plays well to our world today, but we should focus on the author instead.  A quote from the book………

The Bible is not a collection of timeless principles offering a gentle thought for the day.  It is not a resource for our self-improvement.  Rather, it is a dramatic story that unfolds from promise to fulfillment, with Christ at the center.  Its focus is God and his action. God is not a supporting actor in our drama; it is the other way around.  God does not exist to make sure that we are happy and fulfilled.  Rather, we exist to glorify God and to enjoy him forever.  God is not a facilitator of our ‘life transformation’ projects.  He is not a life coach.  Rather, he is our Creator, Lawgiver, Judge, and Covenant Lord. (Michael Horton, The Gospel Driven Life), p. 26

Foolishness of preaching

Monday, January 5th, 2009

God was well-pleased through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe(1 Corinthians 1:21).  For those of you who think that a relationship has to be established to be able to share the gospel(which is unbiblical), check out the following You Tube.  The son of a leader of Hamas was converted after hearing the message of the gospel preached, and by reading the best bible tract out there….the bible.  So, SPEAK UP!!! Don’t give up!  God can do more than we can hope or imagine.

Halloween tract from Way of the Master

Halloween tract from Way of the Master

There is still time before Halloween to get your tracts from WOTM.  They have a special going for Halloween tracts that would be perfect to hand out to the folks coming to trick or treat.  What a great time of the year for witnessing!  Instead of you going out to hand out tracts, THEY come to your house!  Get your tracts today HERE.

From a local seed sower

Saturday, September 27th, 2008

Steve and Connie,

I wanted to share something neat that happened to us recently.

Our family went on a trip to San Diego last week.  We put some million dollar bill tracts in the seat pocket in front of us on the airplane on Saturday 9/13.  Last night, in a home fellowship we host, we were talking about what we would do as Christians if we had no fear.  Someone brought up that they were sitting on a plane on a business trip to Kansas City (Tuesday 9/16) and saw someone reading a million dollar bill tract and they were able to talk to them briefly about it.  We asked what airline they were traveling on and what seat they were sitting in.  It turns out it was one of the tracts we had put there three days before!

What are the chances of someone from our home fellowship sitting on the same airplane as us, in the same row and seeing the tracts.  It showed us how the body of Christ can work together to reach the lost and how simple acts of obedience can work to grow the kingdom.

May we be faithful in the Great Commission
