This is a great idea.  We are working on it.

Prayer for the nation

Thursday, January 22nd, 2009

Concerning my previous post.  I do believe that we, as Christians, are headed for some challenges in our nation in the near future.  Things have been much worse if you consider the persecution of the Christians during the time of Roman dictators.  And there are many being killed today around the world due to their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, but not too many in the US, YET

Yet we must remember that it is God who raises up leaders and nations and pulls them down.  And it is God who judges both, so let’s trust God, entrust ourselves to Him who judges justly and do what He commands.  Like….  we should view our new president as a servant of God (Rom. 13:1, 4) to whom we should be subject (Rom. 13:1, 5; 1 Pet. 2:13-14). Thus, again, we are to pray for Barack Obama (1 Tim. 2:1-2). We are to thank God for Barack Obama (1 Tim. 2:1-2). We are to respect Barack Obama (Rom. 13:7). We are to honor Barack Obama (Rom. 13:7; 1 Pet. 2:17).

So let’s hit our knees and pray for this nation and it’s leaders.  And also for the Lord of the harvest to send more laborers to His harvest field.  And that we, like Paul,  may be given the ” that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel”(Eph 6:19).

New Years Eve in Denver

Tuesday, December 30th, 2008

There will be a bunch of seed sowers meeting in Denver to witness downtown on New Years eve.  Robert sent me an email about it, and asks for prayer if you cannot go.  Pray for……..

* for power and filling of the Holy Spirit
* for rapport with the people
* for exaltation of Jesus and His Word
* for the fear of God to fall on the area
* for the blood of Jesus to cleanse the area
* for decrease of self, crucifixion of the flesh, and complete yielding
* for salvation of souls
* for strengthening of weak Christians
* for protection from police or physical harm

Did you get him to……….

Monday, October 13th, 2008

Funny title for a post, huh.  Well, this is the deal.  I was sharing with someone we know, recently,  about a witness encounter that we had.  How it went well, and the person was very appreciative of us taking the time to share the gospel with them.  The person we were telling the story to said the thing that just makes me cringe……..”did you get him to say the prayer?”   ARGHHHHH…   This nonsense is so prevelant nowadays, it seems people say it without even thinking about it.  Exactly where in the bible does it say that we need to get someone to “say a prayer”, for them to be saved?  People are saved when the Holy Spirit convicts them of sin, righteousness and judgement.  When God grants repentance and faith.  They are saved in spite of themselves.  Just “saying a prayer” is man centered, modern gospel nonsense that more than likely causes nothing but a false conversion, if even that.

It reminds me of a conversation we had with Mark Cahill last year.  He was out here in Manitou Springs teaching at Summit Ministries.  Anyway, we asked what he does when someone says they want to be saved.  He says that he tries to talk them out of it.   Sounds WAY more biblical than getting them to “pray a prayer”.  This is us and Mark Cahill and Keith..
